About the DERMfoot Seminar

Since 1958, the American Society of Podiatric Dermatology - now the American Society of Foot and Ankle Dermatology (ASFAD) - has provided the latest education on skin and nail diseases of the foot and ankle.

Over the years, the society has directed the Cherry Blossom Seminar, which has evolved to become the most popular annual dermatology event in our profession – the DERMfoot Seminar. Through the vision of our president, Joel Morse, DPM, and the ASFAD Board, we have advanced the program to 25 CME with unique open panel discussions and workshops involving a world-class group of lecturers and scientists.

The 2015 seminar was a true game-changer in terms of our growth. We advanced to a new level of awareness among both podiatrists and dermatologists by attracting the top sponsors and exhibitors in the dermatology world.

The 2016 seminar commenced with live "hands-on" presentations and workshops facilitated by leaders in their field, focusing on what we do best: nail/skin biopsy and practice management. The 2016 featured lecture, by Ashfaq Marghoob, MD, was a course in acral dermoscopy, referred to as "simply one of the best dermoscopy lectures on the planet". Dermatology of the foot and ankle has blossomed into a sub-specialty, which now competes with foot and ankle surgery. As we have been told, "Skin is HOT...and surgery is NOT." For the first time ever, we offered a billing and coding practice management track, led by Dave Freedman, DPM, and co-sponsored by PICA. This track explained the tools you need to increase your bottom line when charting and how to avoid audits. The role of the podiatric physician in telemedicine, as well as how to work with specialty pharmacies to fill common dermatologicals, was discussed. Bret Ribotsky, DPM, and his wife Marta Rendon, MD, both visionaries in running a multi-million dollar dermatology and podiatry practice, offered their knowledge. Opportunities outside of the educational program were offered to hold round-table discussions with guest faculty and the ASFAD board.

We are simply the best known "skin" seminar in the podiatric world.

The last DERMfoot Seminar sold out at 33 exhibitors, and enjoyed over 300 attendees. For our next seminar, we expect well over 350 attendees. Please register early and don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity. Click here to register online now!
